How to read this
A country appearing in a row means the speciality has genuine depth there — volume, infrastructure and established international patient pathways. It does not mean every facility in that country is suitable, and it does not mean a country absent from a row has no good options.
Country choice is the easy part. The variation between facilities inside a country is almost always wider than the variation between countries. Once you have narrowed the destination, the real work is checking the specific clinician’s registration, their annual volume for your procedure, and what happens if something goes wrong after you fly home.
Choosing on something other than price
- Shortest travel — Czechia, Germany, Spain and Hungary are all under three hours from London, which matters most for treatments needing two visits.
- Largest saving — India, then Turkey. Both require longer stays for the procedures they do best.
- Strongest regulation — Germany, Spain, Czechia and Hungary inside the EU framework; Singapore and the UAE with publicly verifiable practitioner licensing.
- Specialist depth for complex cases — Germany and Singapore, where you are paying for certainty rather than a discount.
- Short flight for Gulf patients — the UAE and Turkey, which removes most of the clot and fatigue risk that long-haul recovery travel adds.
