In short: we are a medical travel facilitator, and our service is free to you. We are paid a fee by the hospital when you are treated by a partner we introduce you to. We only introduce you to hospitals in our partner network, so this is not a comparison of the whole market.
Why this page exists
Facilitators and comparison sites in medical travel are usually paid by the same clinics they recommend, and rarely say so plainly. We think you cannot judge our recommendations without knowing how we are funded, so this page sets it out in full. It is also a legal requirement: under the UK Committee of Advertising Practice code and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations, commercial relationships that could affect a recommendation must be disclosed clearly and prominently — not buried.
What we are
We are a facilitator, not an independent directory. We hold commercial agreements with the hospitals and clinics we introduce patients to, and we earn a fee when a patient we introduce goes on to be treated. That is our business model, and it means our interests and the partner hospital’s interests are aligned. You should read what we publish with that in mind.
How we are paid
We expect to earn money in the following ways. Where a method is not yet active, we say so rather than implying otherwise.
- Referral fees from clinics and hospitals. If you contact a facility through this site and go on to be treated, that facility may pay us a fee. It is paid from their marketing budget.
- Referral fees from medical travel facilitators. Some organisations coordinate treatment on a patient’s behalf. If we pass an enquiry to one, they may pay us for that introduction.
- Affiliate commission on travel products. Flights, accommodation, transfers, travel insurance and similar. If you buy through a link on this site we may receive a small commission from the retailer.
- Sponsored listings. A clinic may pay to be featured. Where that applies, the listing is labelled Sponsored in the listing itself.
What this means for you
- You pay nothing to us. Our fee is paid by the hospital, from their marketing budget. The quote you receive is the price you pay, and we will tell you before you commit if that is ever not the case.
- We are not whole-of-market. We introduce you to hospitals we have agreements with. There are good clinics we will not send you to, simply because we do not work with them. If you want a wider view, compare our figures against clinics you find yourself — we would rather you did.
- We still state the downsides. Our guides give risks, complication rates and aftercare gaps for our own partners, and label every price that is an estimate rather than a confirmed quote.
- You can ask. If you want to know whether a specific hospital pays us, or roughly how much, ask us and we will tell you.
How partners are chosen
A commercial agreement is necessary for us to introduce you to a hospital, but it is not sufficient. We check accreditation against the issuing body’s own register before we work with a facility, and we will end an arrangement over patient safety concerns regardless of what it costs us. We will not, however, pretend that money plays no part: it decides which accredited hospitals we are able to offer you.
Where you will see this disclosed
- In the footer of every page on this site.
- Next to any link that earns us a fee, at the point you click it.
- On any sponsored listing, labelled in the listing itself.
- In the full explanation on our home page.
