Standard policies exclude elective surgery. What to look for instead.

Insurance paperwork

This article is part of our planning series. Everything below is sourced from published clinic price lists, accreditation registers and peer-reviewed literature, with the date of collection stated so you can judge how current it is.

What the data shows

Prices quoted to international patients frequently exclude items that a domestic patient would expect to be included — consultation, imaging, anaesthetist fees, follow-up appointments, and the crown or prosthesis itself. When comparing quotes, ask each clinic to itemise in writing.

Ask for the total, in writing, including what happens to the price if the clinical plan changes once you are there. A quote that cannot survive that question is not a quote.

What to do next

Verify accreditation on the issuing body’s own register rather than trusting a badge on a clinic website. Confirm who provides aftercare once you are home, and what the clinic’s revision policy covers. Then compare at least three quotes before committing.
